Happy New Year Joy Clair Friends! Tia here with you from RockyMtnCraftia.com. I hope the New Year has found you in good spirit knowing that the door is open for a year of possibilities. Anything is possible! Which is the theme of my design team card today.
I love to surround myself with positive affirmations and was immediately drawn to this sentiment “Anything is Possible” from Joy Clair Designs digital stamp set ‘Hey Girl’. The same set also features this amazing steampunk butterfly!
Card Design
I have a large texture plate with gears and gages from Provo Craft. So I knew I could create a large card. The card base is 4.5 x 6.25 in. with a black mat 4.25 & 6 in. I used an 8×8 in sheet of metallic silver cardstock with the texture plate. To cut the edges, I used a rectangular deckle shaped die. I then used my computer software (Pixlr) to print out the steampunk butterfly and sentiment. The sentiment was die cut with a wonky stitched die and I fussy cut the butterfly.
Keeping It Steampunk
Keeping with the steampunk vibe, I didn’t want the card to feel dark and opted to color the butterfly in a Copper/Rose Gold tone. Next, because ‘Anything Is Possible’, I inked the sentiment in Gold tones and finished it with Wink-Of-Stella in clear. The sentiment was adhered to the edge of the left side of the card mat. I used foam tape to ‘pop-up’ the butterfly, leaving plenty of open space to see the background texture.

Sentiment: Y000 (because my Y00 was dry!). Y11; Y15; YR23
