Hello Joy Clair, Friends!  Cathy back on the blog with another card this week.  Take a peek at Joy Clair Designs Driving By Clear Stamp Set!  The images and sentiments make it a perfect card for “driving by” in a cute VW Bug to celebrate just about any occasion you can think of to make a card for!

I have always wanted a VW bug!  Unfortunately, when I took one out for a test drive a few years ago, the small windows gave it had more blind spots than I was comfortable with, so I gave up that dream.  Coloring this card brought it back for me, though!

Card Recipe:

I decided to make this a mini-slimline size card and used a die you can find in the Joy Clair Shop called, Wonky Stitched Rectangle Mini Slimline Dies.  My scrap drawers came in handy to create the center of the card.  I found papers that worked together and cut them into 1/8″, 1/4″, and 3/8″ strips.  Next, the strips were mounted onto a piece of paper, glued down, and trimmed to fit the card. I colored the VW Bug, the boxes, and the smiley face images with Copics and then fussy cut.  Did you notice the label detail on the boxes?  I added them with a white paint pen and Micron marker.   Finally, I cut the “we’ve moved” sentiment with a stitched flag die, layered everything onto the card base, popped on three enamel dots, and it’s ready to be mailed!
