Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here.I know that the events happening in Ukraine are weighing on people’s minds. The last week a former designer of Joy Clair, Chai Lion @Chadelel created a special design for all of us. Joy Clair Designs is sharing her design for free. It is named Card for Ukraine and you can find it HERE.
As you may know, the Ukraine’s national flower is the sunflower and Cha Lion @Chadelel made an amazing design, exclusive for Joy Clair. I have two different cards to share with you today, so let’s get started with the details!
My design is very simple. With this card , I just wanted to add the colors of the Ukraine’s Flag, the blue and yellow.
I printed the Card for Ukraine design onto white smooth card stock. Then using the stamping foam from Simon Hurley, I added the color panels. I just inked one of the sides of the stamping foam, sprayed it with a little water and placed directly over the printed design. The ink dries very fast and appear like a watercolor look.
I continue with the die cut sentiment. I die cut a Thinking of You sentiment directly over my design after it was totally dry. Then onto white smooth cardstock, I die cut the same sentiment three or four times. Additionally, I pasted all the sentiments in the same position to give more dimension.
For the card base, I used white smooth cardstock and mat the printed layer over black matt cardstock. Then, I pasted the sentiment in the same place that I die cut and the card was completed.
As final touch, I just add a few touches of color with color pencils in some parts of the design. Just keeping in mind that I didn’t want to add different colors.
This card was published a few days ago on my Instagram. On this design, I wanted to add to the Card for Ukraine more colors like the green to give more hope to our Ukrainian friends.
To color the card, I used TriBlend Markers from Spectrum Noir. The colors that I used were Citrus Green Blend, Citrus Blend, Gold Yellow Blend, Gold Brown Shades, Tan Shades, Earth Brown Blend, Orange Blend, Alpine Green Blend, Light Green Blend and True Blue Blend. Additionally, I added a few touches with the Illustrator Markers OR3, PL3 and IG2.
To finalize the card, I just pasted it over a white smooth card base. Then, I decorated with a stitched scalloped frame.
Well, that’s all for these projects. I hope that you will consider getting your FREE STAMP. The crafty community is expressing the love and support for the peace to the world and Ukrainians friends need us now!
Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day.
