Hello crafters! Joy here with you today sharing a little inspiration using the Joy Clair Designs’ May Mood Board. I love this pretty palette and stayed with the theme quite literally. Do you ever do that? Fall in with something instantly? My card features the Extraordinary digital stamp set which comes with three images and two encouraging sentiments.

Keeping with the colors of the mood board in mind, I used 1/4 inch strips in three different shades of yellow to create a diagonal pattern on the bottom right hand corner of the focal panel. Using the Extraordinary sentiment, I sized and printed it so that it would be in the top left corner and then applied the strips of yellow. I also printed the bee image from the same stamp set onto heavy weight vellum so that it would measure approximately 3.5 inches in length and then fussy cut it.

Originally I planned on leaving the image black and white allowing the yellow strips to shine through the wings only, but ultimately decided to add yellow to the flowers and bee images. Definitely color the image on the backside of the vellum so that the color shows through, but is muted showing the frosty effect of the vellum. After trimming the panel down to 3.75 x 5 inches I applied it to a black A2 sized card base and then added a few sequins.

Tip: Apply glue on the thick areas of the black print to avoid it showing through.
