Hey crafty friends! I’m Lien, back with another way to stretch your supplies, yes even your gorgeous Joy Clair Designs digital stamps!

For this card I’m using the Just Butterflies digital set by Joy Clair Designs and I’m printing one of the butterflies onto some regular copy paper. I cut a piece of acetate to be just a little bigger than the butterfly and temporarily taped it in place over the design with purple tape.

I then used a craft knife to cut out the negative spaces inside the wing. Yes, wing. Thankfully butterflies are symmetrical and you only have to cut out one wing to stencil out a butterfly. Once that’s done you could ink blend through it or use some fun glitter paste like I did!

My A2 panel is watercolor cardstock and I’m stenciling on the butterfly wings one at a time with gold glitter paste and a palette knife. Then I let that dry completely and add color to my panel with Concord and 9th inks and ink smooshing. You can use any dye inks you have or even Oxide inks or regular watercolors! To finish up the card I drew a frame around it in black fineliner and I added some gold pearls to make the body of the butterfly.
