Hello crafty peeps!  I’m Danielle returning with a new card design for Joy Clair Designs. I’m sharing my Making Memories and Happy New Year card idea which I think is really cute! I LOVE how this card turned out! The warm and soft color scheme, the pattern paper, and of course the cute stamp is so adorable, right?!

So, I’ve used the Making Memories Digital Set a few times. I love these bears, especially the one I use on this card. To express a Happy New Year, I use the sentiment from the Santa’s Favorite Digital Set. On a side note, when you look at this bear, one would think he’s waving, right? For me, I always see him dancing … hahaha!

After I position and print out the stamp image and sentiment, I color the bear. I use a light brown and soft blues to color his scarf and sweater. My photo doesn’t bring this out, but there is a little color on the bear … cool gray. I cut out the bear and trim down the sentiment. To give a finished look on the sentiment, I ink blend ink on the borders.

Next, I select a sheet of pattern paper from the Hello Christmas Paper Pad and trim it down to 4 x 5 1/4 inches. To embellish the overall card design, I use the Geometric Frame and cut out gold mirror paper.

The card is a quick assembly, starting with the card base A2 size with a top fold (measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches). I adhere the patter paper onto the card base. Next, I adhere the card sentiment, followed by the frame. Then, I added the cute little bear, popping him up on foam tape for dimension. I added a little Wink of Stella on the scarf and Glossy Accents on his sweater.

This card is so adorable and will send the recipient a Warm and Happy New Year. My Making Memories and Happy New Year card idea. What do you think? Leave a comment below to let me know.
