Hi Everyone, It’s Renee’ with Delaney Jane Cards YouTube and Blog. Today I wanted to dispel the myth that mirror stamping is always tricky. You know how hard it is to get a good impression with traditional stamps to switch things around? Digital images makes things so easy.

I have a video tutorial for you on how to make a card using mirror stamping with digital images using Joy Clair Designs Big Hugs.

The Video Tutorial

What Program did I use?

I use the Silhouette software and a program called paint.net to manipulate my images. Both programs are free to use. In addition, you can also use the Silhouette software without having a Silhouette.

For today’s card,  I used the Silhouette Software only. It is super user friendly and it has a function where you can just mirror your image. The process is simple. First, select the image. Second, select Object Menu. Then, select Mirror and wah-lah! FLIPPED. No stamping on acetate or a larger rubber surface and being careful not to smear the image.

Adding Details & Finishing Touches

For this card I used a stencil to add a bold background. I decided to shift and layer the stencil and ink blend in red and blue. I thought it looked so masculine. After that, I used those images from BIG HUGS as the main focus.

Here you can see how I flipped and resized the smaller pup. Even though they are the exact same image, they are now facing two different directions and are two different sizes. I was hoping it would look like Dad and child.

Additionally, I used the sentiment to ground my scene by stretching it under the dogs and accessorizing it with the paw prints on either side.

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Similarly, I hope you enjoyed my YouTube Tutorial. I’d value your feedback in the comments below!
