Hello Joy Clair Designs fans!  This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today, sharing an easy and elegant way to create some quick Christmas cards!  I couldn’t be more surprised by how quickly these cards came together.  I guess you might even consider these a CAS (clean and simple) card.  In full disclosure, I really wanted to foil these cards using this same idea, but I haven’t had a lot of luck with my foiling so far. . .

Card details:

Both of these A2 sized cards are made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  I dry embossed the background with a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of white cardstock and a poinsettia embossing folder.  I simply changed the color of the trees from the Christmas Joy digital stamp set to blue and green and printed them out!  Yes, it’s really that easy!  I had initially printed the tree in red as well, but my printer ink cartridge might need changing as that color presented more orange than red.  I then lined the tree with the color cardstock, in this case green or blue.  I also printed out the sentiment “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” from the Love Santa digital stamp set in the same color, notched both and and adhered it over the center of of the tree.  I punched out a 1/2″ gold star from gold glitter paper and adhered it to the top of the green.  Then, la piece de resistance, I coated the entire tree in a layer of Clear Wink of Stella.  This gives the entire tree a nice layer of shine!

Here’s a closer look at the tree so you can see a little bit of that shine from the layer of Clear Wink of Stella:
