Hi Joy Clair Friends!  Cathy here, sharing a tip about foiling with digital stamps.  I have been on a foiling craze lately using Decofoil and and my Mini-Minc.  The Jingle All the Way set from the new Merriest Moments release inspired me to give foiling a try my digital stamp image.

Steps to Foiling with Digital Stamps:

  1.  Print the design using toner ink.  I have an inkjet printer, so I needed to take my copy of the images to a local print shop. (One extra step, but so worth the effort!!)
  2. Cover the image with the desired DecoFoil colors.  I chose a silver star foil for “Jingle” and red for “all the way”.  Run it through the machine (I used heat setting #2).
Decofoil brand of foil needs to be used when foiling digital stamps.

  3. Color the foiled image with Copics, colored pencils, or other coloring tools of choice.
  4. Finish the card!  My card is a slimline to capitalize on the size I used for the image. I knew I wanted to keep the foiled image a central focus, so I chose some fun patterned papers, layered Gina Marie’s Pleated Lace Dies, and added a red foiled candy cane to finish the card off.I hope you feel inspired to try foiling with digital stamps! The bold designs of the sentiments in the Jingle All the Way set are perfect for  the technique.  Take a peek at the penguin card I foiled using silver and black foil for my the release. ~Cathy
