Hello crafty friends! I’m Lien, new to the team and I’m sharing my first card on the blog today. This card features a super easy technique for all the people who just don’t feel like doing a lot of coloring today.

For this card, I’m working with an image and sentiment from the Funny Times digi stamp. First, I printed this out onto regular cheap copy paper because I’ll be tracing over it on vellum. Then, I cut a piece of vellum to be 14.5 x 12.5 cm and finally, I scored it along the 14.5 side at 2 cm. Additionally, I’m lining the 14.5 x 10.5 cm side up with my image and sentiment on the copy paper and tracing over it with a Posca gold paint marker.

SPECIAL DETAILS:

The marker is slightly wet and sometimes the vellum will warp slightly, just press it under something heavy for a few hours and you should be golden.

For the background,  I’m using some Pinkfresh Studio dye inks in the colors Stargazer, Raspberry Bliss, Clementine, Mustard Seed and Mermaid Cove. In addition, I’m doing some inksmooshing by pressing the ink onto my work surface, spraying some clean water onto it, I then pick it up with a plastic stamp sleeve and press it onto a piece of watercolor cardstock.

For my card, I’m using Canson Montval 200 gsm watercolor cardstock today.

To add some interest to the left side, I cut a strip of gold glitter cardstock. Also, I die cut this scalloped trim from black cardstock using the Slim Window Trimmings die set by Mama Elephant.

To put this card together, I folded the scored edge of the vellum over the back of the watercolor cardstock and adhered it on the back with double sided tape. Then, I adhered that whole piece onto a side folding white card base made with Mondi Color Copy 300 gsm white cardstock (a very cheap but very sturdy cardstock perfect for card bases or die cut layering!). Additonally, I adhered the gold and black cardstock strips with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. And that finishes up this card!
