Hi crafty friends! This is Lien again, with a very simple card using the gorgeous leaf image from the Modern Duets digital stamp set.

How To

For this card I started by scaling up the leaf image from the Modern Duets set in my software and making it stretch over an entire A2 sized card panel. I printed it out twice onto Clairefontaine DCP 250 gsm paper. I trimmed out one of the panels as a whole and from the other one I fussycut out the leaf so I can use it as a mask. I just put some temporary adhesive on the back and gently press it onto my cardpanel.

I then used Distress Oxide inks in the colors Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers to blend the background. I used blending brushes to apply them in a nice even blend. To add a little more interest I used the Double Stitched A2 nesting rectangle dies from The Ton to cut out a rectangle from the panel. These dies add stitching to the inside and outside of the cut line. I cut this die 5 more times from black cardstock and layered all the rectangles together with liquid glue to add dimension.

For my sentiment I’m using 4 white Hello die cuts from Pinkfresh Studio and also stacking those together for dimension. I glued the outer frame onto my cardbase first and then adhered the stacked rectangles inside of that. I adhered the sentiment slightly off set and hanging off the propped up inner panel. As a finishing touch I added some holographic gemstones.
