Hello Joy Clair Friends, Cathy on the blog today.  Today I am working with the digital stamp set, First of All.   As you can see, this set has two beautiful blossoms and three sentiments.  The ability to manipulate the size of digital stamps and sentiments are one of the things I love best about using them in my cardmaking!

I love magnolias, so I thought I would try and capture their color in my card.  I kept my card design relatively simple and highlighted the diagonal line of the magnolia blossom by using the technique of partial masking with a digital stamp.

Card Recipe

First, I decided on the layout of the image and sentiment, and then printed them.  I colored the magnolia with my Copics and die cut the main image panel. Next, I partially masked the bottom half of the digital stamp image and then stamped over it with a fine-lined background stamp, followed by a stencil.  I mounted the panel onto an A2 card base and added patterned paper from my stash.  Attaching the image panel came next, and finally placing the jewels and an enamel dot.  Fellow DT member Leah used First of All Digital Stamp for her card here too, but with a totally different take on the image!  I hope you are inspired to try using partial masking with a digital stamp to create something for yourself!  Thanks for stopping by the blog. ~Cathy
