Hi Joy Clair Friends – Cathy on the blog today. I know things ramp up as the calendar turns to December, so I have an idea for quick Christmas cards that you can easily make multiples of today. No coloring! These cards simply combine Joy Clair digital stamps, paper you have on hand, and foiling.
I wanted to keep these simple and limited myself to foiling, layering, and a few embellishments! If you want to read more about the process and the materials, my Joy Clair Blog Post from November 4th has a quick tutorial about foiling with digital stamps.
Steps for Quick Christmas Cards:
I combined the Ornament Tree from Joy Clair’s This Christmas Stamp Set with the sweet sentiment from Christmas Wish for the design of my cards.
Using an 8.5 x 11″ piece of card stock and toner ink, I was able to print four card fronts for each color I chose.
The next step is to foil the printed images, so I decided to use gold and silver Deco foil for my white and green card stock creations.
To keep with the theme of quick Christmas cards, I decided to use layers and glitter paper. I started with a glitter frame around the image, and then mounted each card on complimentary paper and a glitter paper card base. Finally, I added three embellishments to each card front.
Keeping the overall card layout the same helped me finish off the eight cards in a little over an hour. That’s just about 8 minutes a card, which is record time for me!! Thanks for stopping by the Joy Clair blog. Hope you are inspired to make some quick Christmas cards of your own. ~Cathy
