Hello crafters, Joy here with an Independence Day inspired project featuring the Spring Rose stamp set. I know the holiday was yesterday for those of us in the United States, but I couldn’t help but squeeze in one more RWB card. The set comes with two floral images and four sentiments and it is perfect for almost all occasions and I think it may be my very favorite stamp yet! Let’s take a quick look at the card, before we get into the details.
I printed these two roses (same image) large and in charge on to a 4 x5.25 inch panel and colored them with Copics. I used R 30, 32, and 35 for the base layer of the Spring Rose images. Then to get the really dramatic and blue tint, I added B 63 and 66 to the base of the petals and anywhere there would be a deep shadow. Once I liked my blend, I then applied the darkest of my blue markers (B 99) to the background. You can do the same techniques with whatever alcohol markers you, but I only know the Copic blends off the top of my head. To add just a bit more interest I splattered gold and white acrylic paint to the panel. Since I wasn’t sure what occasion I would be sending my card for, I decided on a simple “celebrate” die cut word for the sentiment. I am over the moon with how dramatic the Spring Rose images turned out. I’d love to know what you think?
Okay I think that pretty much sums up this beautiful, but easy to create card. I hope this inspires you to take a look at the Joy Clair Designs Shop today!
