Hello creators! Tia, back with you from RockyMtnCraftia.com. Many of us are gearing up to celebrate this month and no matter the celebration there is always some type of gift to give. And I am here to remind you to remember the tag-the gift tag! You are a crafter and tags are just one more place you can make your own.
Tags are a quick fun way to brighten up any gift you are giving and can be made in a million different ways! Today’s tags feature the present from Joy Clair Designs digital stamps set ‘Merry & Bright’, which you have probably already downloaded by now-it’s so cute!
Shapes and Sizes
The great thing about tags is that you can make them in any shape as well as any size! Make they with pattern paper, solid cardstock, sew strips of scraps together! The top of the tag can be fancy or plain. You can use a paper punch or insert a gromet. Save the tag off bought items or clothing. I have a box with tags of all shapes, sizes and colors waiting for me to get creative with.
Ribbons, Strings and Bows
The same thing here, anything goes! And I know you-I’m just like you! I love looking at the spools of ribbon in craft stores. They are as addictive as the paper. Next to making bookmarks, tags are the next best excuse to use up that expansive stash of ribbon.
Layout
I printed a sheet of 8.5 x 11 in. paper with the present and various sentiments. On one tag, I flipped the image and put them up against each other. After printing out the page, I drew my tag outlines with existing tags. All that was left to do was cut them out, color and attach my ribbons.
I will wait until wrapping gifts to attach a tag and add the recipient’s name to it.
Markers vs. Pencils
I like to use both, as most of us do. I especially like the look of pencils on kraft paper. Two of the tags I created were made with kraft paper and Prismacolor pencils. Joy Clair’s December Mood Board colors are out, and it was fun to use those colors on my tags as well.
Crafting on the Go!
I know many of you craft while on the move. Be it at your kids karate lessons or gymnastics practice. Creating tags is a great way to keep crafty without hauling your entire stash with you.
I appreciate you all so much for following along with me! I hope you are able to take some time today to make some tags. If you do, head over to the Joy Clair Facebook page and share them with us!
Until next time-Get Crafty!
