Hello crafty friends! We are less than 10 weeks away before Christmas!!! I cannot believe how this year has flown by so quickly. Every weekend, I’ve been watching Christmas movies on Hallmark and Lifetime. Both channels are inspiration for today’s cute Christmas card project. It’s Santa’s Favorite Christmas Card with our cute penguin buddy! If you look closely, he’s skiing on ice, how fun is that?!
Santa’s Favorite Christmas Card Design
The stamp set I’m using with today’s project is from Joy Clair Designs. It’s the Santa’s Favorite Digital Set and inspired by the Christmas season quickly approaching. I would’ve loved to visit the slopes this year. Normally, I stay on the bunny slopes, yet always have a great time. We’ll just plan for a trip next year, provided that we resume some type of normalcy.
For this card, I’m using a simple ink blending technique. The scenery is capturing a snowy nightfall, and I love how it turned out. After ink blending, I set it aside to dry. Next, I print and color the penguin and sentiment on separate pieces of cardstock. To color the penguin, I use alcohol markers. I fussy cut it out, in addition to the sentiment to create a fish tail banner. Before I assemble the card, I apply glacier paste on the lower third of the card to give the illusion of ice. After all, our friendly penguin buddy is skiing!
To finish off the card, I assemble the card panel, image and sentiment onto the card base. The card base is landscape and measures 5.5 x 4.25 inches. I add Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents for shimmer and shine. What do you think of my Santa’s Favorite Christmas Card?!
