Hello crafty friends! I’m back with another card creation using Joy Clair Designs. I’m using the Prized Life stamp set, recently released during Joy Clair’s August 2020 release. My card is a clean and simple design, where I use a simple Copic coloring technique. I’ll share with you my approach to coloring, paired with my video below. I thank you for visiting and invite you to subscribe to the blog and/or YouTube channel, so you’re notified when I share more card projects in the future.
How I Begin Card Design
I started this card project cutting and folding an A2 size card base, measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. The first layer, directly adhered to the card base, I used black cardstock, leaving about 1/4 inch border on all sides. The top layer is where I printed and colored the digital images and sentiment. I used my Copic markers – Y26, Y21, and Y13 to color each of the flower petals. I only use one color, Y11, for the center of the flower; and use YG03 and YG05 for the leaves on the vine. The top layer is trimmed down, leaving 1/8 inch inward from the black layer.
My Simple Copic Coloring
After, I began my approach to color the flower petals, which is pretty straight forward. I color the flower petals, I start with my darkest tone, mid tone, and finish/blend with the lightest tone. On the leaves, I use YG05 and blend with YG03. Repeating the process on all flowers and leaves, I color the remainder of the image. I adhered all layers to the card base, using foam tape on the black panel for dimension. I finish off the card, by adding shimmer and shine … Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. I top it all off with a coordinating color of Nuvo drops. That’s it!!! What do you think? Please consider leaving me a comment below.
