Hello crafters, Joy here today bringing you an A7 or 5×7 inch card using the digital stamp set, God Guides, which comes with three beautiful images and four sentiments. I used the Joy Clair Designs February Mood Board for my inspiration and hope maybe you will use it too. If you do don’t forget to share it with us.

Although I didn’t make a Valentine’s Day card today, I did use the mood board as my jumping off point. I used a dark red, black and gold theme for my card, paired with deep pink floral from God Guides. I started my card, by printing the images onto smooth cardstock after sizing the images to nicely snuggle around the sentiment. I colored the floral, and then used a Scan n Cut to fussy cut them as well as the sentiment. Since the sentiment is written in cursive and all of the letters connect, the machine easily recognized them and cut with a border around them. This is very similar appearance to a die cut word with a shadow layer. I just love this because, now I can size my sentiments as big or little as I want and not be restricted to the size of a die. I think this is a huge bonus of working with digital stamps.

I really wanted to make my background special, so I used an embossing folder and applied Mettalic Lustre’ over the raised areas. I love using this medium because it isn’t wet, and you can continue creating your project without waiting for it to dry. Ironically, I did splatter it with acrylic paint, but that didn’t take long to dry. Once the panel was ready, I die cut 2 stitched rounded corner rectangles to highlight the sentiment from God Guides, before adding the 2 florals opposites of one another. And true to myself, I couldn’t stop with the shimmer and shine, so a few gold sequins were scattered to accentuate the flowers. My final steps were matting the focal panel in black and adhering it to a matching A7 card base. I think this just about wraps up everything for today. I hope you will give this card a try or maybe make one that is inspired by the mood board. Don’t forget to tag us on social media if you!
