Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here! Today I want to share a card with an easy and simple floral coloring. I am featuring the floral arragment included on the Digital Stamp On Your Special Day and a sentiment included on the Spring Rose, both from Joy Clair Designs.
To color the flowers from today’s card, I used Illustrator Markers from Spectrum Noir. I really like the brush tip of the Illustrators and how they blend together. The colors of Illustrator Markers that I used were CT4, CT3, CT1, DR4, DR2, DR1, DG4, DG3, CG2.
To add more dimension to my card, I fussy cut the images with scissors. But like these are digital stamps, you can also cut them with any electronic cutting machine. I have the cricut but just for relax, I prefer to cut them with scissors. Additionally, I pasted the flowers over the decorated card base with 3D Foam Squares. And pasted over the sentiment that I die cut using one of the Nested Labels Dies.
If you noticed, I resized two images from the On Your Special Day Digital Stamp and printed them onto White Smoth Card Stock. Them I arranged over the card and cut the borders in line to can use the negative parts in another areas of the card.
Joy Clair Designs has amazing floral images that are great to color with different mediums. However, some of us feel intimidated with the coloring process. I am not an expert colorist and I don’t pretend to teach you, I just want to share what for me is easy and simple coloring and with what products I get better results.
Normally, to make and easy and simple colored, I started with the darker color and moved to the medium. Then, I continue with the light color. However when the image is too small, I made the coloring in the opposity way. First, I colored with the light color and then, with the medium and darker colors.
