Hi Joy Clair Friends!  Cathy on the blog today using the butterfly image from My Path Digital Stamp set.  This set comes with two beautiful images and three sentiments.

I decided to give watercoloring a try for this card. To create contrast, I tried two different techniques.  I layered paint on the yellow side and then used blue on the flowers and leaves on the floral side.  I printed the image on a heavier weight white paper. Since I didn’t use watercolor paper, I was careful about the amount of water I used.

Watercolor paints and fussy cutting the butterfly from “My Path Digital Stamp” create a focal point for today’s card.

Card Design

Fussing cutting the butterfly helped create a focal image on my card.  I added texture to the magenta pink card back and continued with texture using an embossing folder for the white behind the butterfly.  A set of arched stacklet dies was used to make the purple frame.  The sentiment is from the Sending a Little Message Digital Stamp set. Finally, I added three clear sequins to finish off the card.

I hope you feel inspired to try making a card of your own.  Thanks for stopping ny the Joy Clair Blog! ~ Cathy
