Hi Joy Clair Friends! Tia here from RockyMtnCraftia.com. Today’s design team card is about sharing hearts. Many of you are getting ready to create cards for those closets to you- spouses, honey’s, sweethearts, kiddos and gal pals to tell them how much they mean to you! Today’s card is filled with plenty of hearts to share!
Today’s card features digitals stamps: The Mason Jar from the Above & Beyond set.
And that adorable cat from the Funny Times digital stamp set.
Card Design
This card is one digital print out. Using my digital software (Pixlr), I laid down the mason jar first and layered the cat in front of it. After I adjusted the sizes where I wanted them I printed the design out.
I worked with an A2 sized card (4.25 x 5.5). In my design paper stash was a collection of seasonal papers and I used one for this card background. Scrap paper cut into strips could be substituted and matched to your desired color palette.
This design could also be used for a shaker card. Using a kraft knife I cut the inside of the mason jar out. With an embossing folder I created the candy hearts to “fill” the jar. I colored the candy hearts with finger daubers and distress inks. (colors listed below) I then glued the embossed design behind the jar.
Card Colors
The cat from this set reminds me of Duchess-the cat in Disney’s movie the Aristocats. Which made coloring very easy!
