Hi and welcome back! Joy here today with a window card featuring the Spring Floral Basket digital stamp. This stamp set is stunning with its 8 images and 6 sentiments. My goal was to make what looks like a window box decoration. Let’s take a look and see!
I started out by printing the Spring Floral Basket image and sentiment on to smooth card stock. I sized the image so that it would perfectly fit the window. Digital stamps are awesome because you make them to fit any project! I colored the stamp with Copics and then fussy cut it out with my cut n scan.
My next step in making this card was to use a frame die cut and add acetate to the back to achieve the window pane effect. Because I didn’t have a window die cut, I made my own by trimming 1/4 inch strips and centering them both horizontally and vertically.
Tip: If you don’t have a frame die it is simple to make one yourself with nesting rectangle dies such as the Tribunal Stitched Rectangle Die Set. To do this you choose a larger die, and place a smaller die (about 2 sizes smaller) inside it and tape them with washi tape centered and run it through your die cut machine.
You’ll notice that I used a full size panel for the background with stenciled clouds. I adhered the 4.25 x 5.5 inch panel onto an A2 card base. Finally I popped the window panel up on foam tape. This would have been a great shaker, but opted not to because the Spring Floral Basket takes up most of the pane. I love dimension on my cards, so I also popped up the floral image, but before doing that I added some shading onto the frame with a cool grey Copic where the basket would leave a shadow. I added the sentiment and a simple twine bow to add character. My very last step was to add Farmhouse Enamel Dots for the final embellishment.
Okay I think that pretty much sums up this beautiful, but easy to create cards! I hope this inspires you to take a look at the Joy Clair Designs Shop today!
