Hi Joy Clair fans! Dalis on the blog today. It is my debut here on the blog and I am super excited. I am one of the brand-new members of the Joy Clair team. My card features Truly Inspire Digital Stamps. I used the peonies and the sentiment “You truly inspire me”.

Card composition is a lot more dynamic when using digital stamps. Using the semi-closed bloom twice for the card composition and reducing its size creates a more interesting look.  Positioning the smaller bloom on “the back” of the arrangement and barely covered by the opened flower, creates a visual difference in depth. The open bloom is taller to emphasize focus since it is about the same size as the big closed bloom. I did a little bit of copy and paste for the stem of the flowers and even some simple sketch drawings. Finally, added the sentiment to the front of the composition to anchor it with the flowers.

The image was colored using Faber Castell Watercolor pencils, and details were added with liquid watercolor inks. Some light brown splattering and itty bitty hearts around the title bring everything together.

I have some close-up pictures for you to see the detail on the flowers.  The flowers had 2 dark reds, 1 brown, and the centers were yellow and dark orange. Highlights were created with a white Prismacolor pencil.
